What or who is a Jarrado? And what does the funky symbol mean.
A jarrado is a simply a name given to a man who loves men, whether he identifies as a gay/sgl/msm/mlm man who fully embraces his role in the greater society in the form of a new social contract. He takes note of, and agrees with the three acknowledgements listed below.
1. It is your duty to fill your own cup first, and then graciously allow it to spill over into the cups of others.
2. Acknowledge that your sexuality is a gift from your creator to help you live a fulfilled and balanced life. It like other gifts is not be be abused and taken for granted.
3. Acknowledge that you are a being crafted by nature over time for the greater good of the family group and human tribe around you. You are not against nature you are here to serve its purpose which is to drive life forward.
You can find more about these on the Three acknowledgements page.
A Jarrado, also embrasses the concept of the 7.1 rule as a social contract between himself and the society/tribe/world he is placed in.
The 7.1 contract is simply an agreement that we place on ourselves to contribute a little bit more to the greater society than is asked of us. Whether this be through hard work, our career, or giving of our creative gifts. However, most importantly it is exemplified through the giving of charity.

About the Symbol/Seal
The symbol or seal looking thingy is just that. A seal of symbolism. It is a stylized number 7.1 surrounded by another symbol. The west african sourced “sese wo soban’s” wheel.

The wheel symbolizes change and movement forward. The symbol also includes the same adinkra symbol’s star in place of the decimal point.

Why the 7.1 number
Both the bible, the quran, and a number of holy books all have several verses which relate to the importance of giving. Some of the most beautiful of these verses all seem to have a common number of 7.1 or 71. or.71 somewhere in them.
It just so happens to be that the number 7.1 is also a good and fair percentage when in comes to the ability to tithe. The Quran recommend a tithe of 2.5% or your sitting wealth per year, the bible does not give an exact number, however ten percent is the recommended number.
We recommend you give whatever amount is recommended by your religion, or whatever you can reasonably and sensibly give. It is important to mention that it is not just of money that you can give. You can give of time, testimony, talents and abilities, or whatever extra you have to give to the world.
Men who love men, being in the position that they rarely have children, and are usually double earners when coupled up, have more time, money, and energy on their hands to give a bit more to the society they are in. They are as most people are, often blessed by their creator with unique talents. So, that obligation should be followed through by sharing them with the world. By doing good by God your creator by making good use of the gifts that he has blessed you with is a good thing.
Where did the name “Jarrado” come from?
Jarrado is a new word in combination of two seperate words. The first word is ‘Jarra’ meaning a container, vessel or jar filled with something.” It comes from the Arabic Language and is where the modern english term ‘Jar’ comes from.
The second word is a west african word ‘Ado’ representing a man who loves another man. ‘Ado’ the plural of which is adodi. There is a longstanding cultural group for men i the united states and abroad who go by that title. They are definitly worth looking up if you have a moment. But, we will not pull you off the subject for now.
So, together, the words come together to represent a man who loves men, that is a vessel filled with specific ideas or concepts of being. Or, that is the intention.
So if you are a man who loves men, and you understand and embrace the three acknowledgement and you ultimately embrace your role in the social contract idea of the 7.1 rule, you can proudly call yourself a Jarrado. Or, you can call yourself whatever you like and continue to live you life as a man with a higher level or principles.
