What is the J71 Project?
The Jarrado Project is a response to the fact that men who love men, don’t always have a working blueprint to live their best lives. They are pretty much started off with the monumental task of figuring things out on their own with no standard blueprint that accounts for their unique differences versus, say the dominant heterosexual population. This is particular important when it comes to the avenue of purpose and spiritual fulfillment.
Here we offer a new idea behind what it means to be a man who loves men in the existence of the greater tribe around us. The ultimate goal is to be good men, who are good to themselves, good to those around them and ultimately good for the societies that they exist in. However, our most important goal is to be good and obedient to our creator who is always good to us.
The Jarrado projects main function is to answer that spiritual need in a functional and structured way. The important components of the world view include The following:
The 3 Acknowledgments:
The Three acknowledgements are principles to cleanse the subconscious mind of a lifetime of negativity that men who love men have had to absorb. I replaces them withempoweing ideasinstead. Everything starts in the subconscience mind.
So, these are a small set of mantras and ideas to help cleanse it. You can click on the section for a better explanation of these three understandings and what they represent.
The 7.1 principle: A principle involving the social contract that gay men have to fulfil in the societies that they are in and one that is ultimately for their own prosperity. The 7.1 principle is the number our logo emblem is based off of. It involves the idea of giving back to society, and producing a little bit extra to help make the world a better place.
The Jarrado Identity:
A single star in the constellation of your identity as a person.
The man who acknowledges the three understandings and embraces the social contract ideal of 7.1 rule can call themselves by this title. Again, not as their whole identity, but as a small star of the constellation that makes up who they are as a unique person.
The word Jarra is a combination of two words, One word is from the ancient and modern Arabic Jarra (meaning pitcher, pot, jar or container.) It is also the root word for ‘Jar’ in the English language.
The second word is from west africa. Ado – which stands for a man who loves another man. It comes from the Yoruba language. Both of these unique words form together to represent a man who loves men who is a container for certain set of principles.
‘Jarrado’
We figured that men who subscribe to these ideals needed something to call themselves. So, a new name or title seemed appropriate. Thus the site name, and the name of the project itself.
