A Word On Curating a Health Protocol.
Health and Fitness are important.
So, it would be irresponsible if we didn’t address it in some form or fashion. We focus on a few principles of health and fitness, which are the elements you have the most direct control over.
The first principle is that everyone is an individual, and has individual needs. Even though we all have the same general components of the human body. We are as different on the inside as we are on the outside.
We react uniquely to foods, exercise, and the environment in ways that are only particular to us. Some people like hot weather and thrive in it. Some people have allergies, some people have a fast metabolism and can eat anything, and others have a slow metabolism and literally have to watch everything they eat. It is really a luck of the draw.
You have to take care of your vessel, like it is yours, and not everyone else’s. This means curating your OWN health protocol according to your needs. We recommend getting a notebook / Journal and taking stock of your own body through and through.
How flexible are you? How long can you run on a treadmill? How often do you exercise and walk? Aches and pains? Cross-check it with a doctor, or doctors/especially and find out what problems you need addressing.
I will not give out health advice here as I am not a doctor and have not taken the doctor’s Oath. I can’t and won’t be responsible for your general health. I would not have a clue where to start, to be honest. I am on a journey of understanding my own body, and only by addressing its unique concerns have I found greater health.
Here is what I do know, though, that can help you. You need to take 5 important tests and keep track of them, either by notebook, journal, or chart. The 5 stats you need to keep track of are the following:
- Blood Pressure ( Free at home)
- Blood Sugar ( Free at home with test kit )
- Resting Heart Rate (* Free at home with phone)
- LDL Cholesterol,( around $150 taken yearly )
- Vitamin D Level ( around $120 take yearly ) is important for dental health, bone density, and pre-diabetes and a host of other issues.
Also, get an advanced smart scale. They are generally inexpensive and give enormous insight into your body mass index, bone and muscle density, and BMI for tracking.
This is a good start. Don’t worry about cost when it comes to these tests or items. Like most things in life, you either pay now or pay later. It is best to get an early start and pay up front for the knowledge.
When it comes to exercise and physical fitness, the important thing to keep in mind is that you do something you ENJOY to stay in shape. Whether it is dance, basketball, martial arts, swimming, running, hiking, or yoga. It is most important to not jump into a random exercise program just because you need to exercise and stay in shape.
It is more important to find something that you enjoy and can make time for first.
This way, the motivational part will more easily take care of itself.
